Features

Neoprene 2045 is a high density foam rubber with excellent insulation, shock absorption, and water resistant properties. Higher densities of neoprene are more durable and resilient than lower density alternatives.

Key Characteristics
  • Closed-Cell Structure: Like other closed-cell foams, neoprene foam possesses a closed-cell structure, wherein its individual cells are enclosed, preventing interconnection. This arrangement affords the foam resistance against water, moisture, and air infiltration.
  • Flexibility: Despite its high density, Neoprene 2045 remains flexible, allowing it to conform to irregular shapes and contours, ensuring a proper fit and effective sealing or cushioning.
  • Chemical Resistance: Neoprene foam rubber exhibits good resistance to oils, greases, fuels, solvents, and most chemicals, ensuring long-term performance in various industrial and automotive applications.
  • Thermal Insulation: Neoprene foam rubber offers thermal insulation properties, helping to prevent heat loss or gain and maintain temperature stability in HVAC systems, pipes, and equipment.
  • Weather Resistance: High-density neoprene foam rubber is resistant to weathering, UV exposure, and ozone degradation, ensuring durability and longevity in outdoor applications.
Common Applications
  • Gaskets and Seals: It can be employed as gaskets and seals in industrial machinery, concrete, and construction applications
  • Padding: Used in shock-absorbing pads, bumpers, and cushions in automotive and aerospace applications
  • Insulation: It can be used as thermal insulation for pipes, HVAC systems, and industrial equipment
  • Weatherproofing: The foam is used for waterproofing and weather stripping for doors, windows, and construction joints
  • Reducing Vibrations: It sees use in vibration isolation mounts for machinery and equipment

Manufacturing Tolerances
Products may carry a size tolerance depending on the style and job. Please see our Tolerance Table.

Standard Sheet Sizes
Standard sheets of foam are cut slightly larger than the listed size to compensate for shrinkage during packaging, transit, and delivery. Sheets may contain rough edges.
