Volara is an irradiation crosslinked polyolefin foam, and it complies with the Food and Drug Administration regulations for use in contact with food

Specifically, Vloara (Type A) is manufactured from poloyolefin resins complying with 2. and 21 C.F.R.177.1520 (C) and meet C.F.R. 178.3010. Also, Volara Foam complies under C.F.R. 177.1210, "Closures with sealing gaskets for food containers."

This means that a whole new series of food container and food contact applications are now possible using Volara Foam.
